Traeger Earns Red Dot Design Award for the Timberline XL Grill

Traeger announced today that they were awarded the 2023 Red Dot Product Design Award for the redesigned Timberline XL.

Traeger has spent three decades perfecting innovation and design in all our grills. The Timberline was launched as the premier grill with design at the forefront, so to be recognized by Red Dot on our most advanced outdoor cooking solution is invaluable and affirms our belief in pushing the limits of what’s possible, all while bringing family and friends together to create memorable meals and experiences

Traeger Timberline XL

The Traeger Timberline XL was released last spring with a number of features that were new to pellet grills. Most notable, it has a induction side burner, a touch screen controller, and quicker warm-up times.

New to Traeger was their departure from the barrel style cook chamber they had been known for. It was also their first grill with an easy cleanout system.

The new design features from the Timberline have cascaded down to the new Ironwood that was released earlier this year. It’s like a smaller Timberline without the induction burner.

Red Dot Award

The Red Dot Award is given to recognize product, communication, and conceptual design. With the motto “In search of good design and innovation”, products are measured on innovation, functionality and longevity.

Outdoor cooking products that have taken home the award in years past include the Gozney Dome pizza oven and the Weber SmokeFire Stealth Edition pellet grill.
