New recteq RT-B380 Bullseye Small Pellet Grill Released

If you’re in the market for a small pellet grill, this updated recteq pellet grill (fomerly known as a Rec Tec pellet grill) might be just what you’re looking for. The new version is a continuation of what people loved about the former recteq Bullseye, but hotter, faster and stronger.

The new recteq Bullseye is unique when it comes to other small pellet grills on the market. Rather than have a portable design, like the Traeger Tailgater, it’s fixed like a Weber kettle. It’s also different that other pellet grills because they operate more like a smoker, with a heat baffle in between the fire pot and your food, to create indirect heat. The recteq Bullseye has an open flame design, again, like a Weber kettle. Whether those are plusses or minuses, it depends on what you’re looking for.

Looking at features on this small pellet grill, it uses quite a bit of stainless steel, which we’ve come to expect from other recteq smokers on the market. It also can get very hot compared to other pellet grills, with a maximum temperature of 749 degrees F, which would be great for searing and quick cooks. Other key features include:

  • Retail price of $499
  • On meat probe included to monitor your food temperature
  • Up to 15 hours of cook time with a full, 15 lb hopper
  • 380 square inches of cooking area
  • Weighs 70 lbs

This is a great option if you’re looking for a small pellet grill. If pellet fuel isn’t important and portability is, then you’ll probably want to consider the Masterbuilt portable charcoal grill or the Weber Traveler portable gas grill. It’s great though that recteq is innovating with a direct flame pellet grill rather than a traditional pellet smoker design and adding another product category for consumers.
