Trex has a goal of scaling their current $1.2 billion in revenue to $2 billion in revenue by 2030. It’s a big goal for the company, and to achieve it, they are looking at more of the backyard beyond decking and railing.
We’ve spent 30 years earning the trust of homeowners, contractors and channel partners by consistently delivering innovation and performance. Now we’re building on that foundation with a bold vision for the future. We believe the next era of growth will come from helping consumers think beyond a deck to an entire outdoor living experience, and Trex is uniquely positioned to lead that evolution.
Adam Zambanini, CEO of Trex – Press Release Celebrating 30 Years
They do currently have a small amount of business in other areas, including fencing, and even outdoor kitchens. They are aiming to blossom some of those areas both organically and in-organically. On the M&A side, they are aiming to achieve 1/3 of their growth goal there.
So on M&A, I’ve been very consistent on this. First area of growth is anything we can do on vertical integration on decking and railing that would expand margins over time. That’s number one.
Number two is immediately going to the backyard. So I think anywhere from the threshold of the door to the fence, there’s a lot of opportunities in terms of smaller companies that would add value with the Trex brand name, and we could help them in terms of the operations of those facilities. So that’s kind of the second area. And then the third area, which would be longer term would be the envelope of the house.
Adam Zambanini, CEO of Trex – Q2 2026 Earnings Call
On the organic growth side, they’ve created a new Chief Commercial Officer role and appointed Brian J. Taylor. The new role brings together sales, marketing, and information technology. Trex believes the consolidation of these functions bring an integrated, customer-focused approach to demand generation, channel engagement, digital capabilities, and revenue growth.
We see significant opportunity to further align our commercial capabilities and drive growth through enhanced customer experience. During our national search, it became clear that Brian’s varied experience leading sales, marketing, and digital transformation teams positions him well to lead this integrated new function within Trex. In addition, his proven track record driving profitable growth and developing high-performing teams within large commercial organizations provides us with strong confidence in his ability to lead execution and create long-term value for our stakeholders. We are excited to welcome him to Trex.
