Mill Scale Metalworks to Open a New 10,000 Sq-Ft Production Facility

A popular name in high quality smokers is Mill Scale Metalworks. They make a variety of smokers ranging from a 94 gallon backyard offset, to Santa Maria style grills and giant offset smoker trailers.

The company was founded by Matt and Caleb Johnson in Lockhart, TX. Their products are hand built using thick steel, great welding, and finished off with Tel-Tru thermometers.

According to a report in a local ABC affiliate, Mill Scale Metalworks has grown and is opening a new shop.

We’re never building one thing at a time anymore, so it is kind of an orchestra of how it all gets done. But the volume is definitely increasing.

The new manufacturing facility will be 10,000 square feet, and still located in Lockhart, TX at 800 N. Commerce St. The groundbreaking on the facility is scheduled for August 25th.
