Home Depot Starts Selling Pit Boss Grills, Including the Premium Navigator Line

For years if you were buying a pellet grill at Home Depot your main option was Traeger. Home Depot really leaned into Traeger, flooring multiple models and creating whole installations for the brand.

Lowe’s on the other hand was where you could buy Pit Boss. There was exclusivity, with no crossover between the two giant grill retailers and big pellet grill brands.

It appears that’s starting to change as Pit Boss grills are now on Home Depot’s website. That’s major news for the retail landscape and for consumers. It adds competition between the brands and also gives more options at the point of sale.

Products Available

We’ll see how the products available from Pit Boss at Home Depot evolves, but I like what’s already available. They have a mixture of value and premium.

On the value end, there’s the FB2 line of pellet grills that carries a very approachable price tag and still has features like a digital controller and the flame broiler lever. For premium pellet grills, Home Depot is offering the Pit Boss Navigator line that has all the bells and whistles.

It has a touchscreen controller, easy ash cleanout, rapid ignitor, and everything else you’ve come to expect from pellet grill tech. Despite all it’s features, what’s nice about the Navigator is it’s still very competitively priced.

For the Navigator line, Home Depot has both the standard pellet grills and vertical smoker models. They are also selling some of the cheaper vertical smoker models that can’t be beat in terms of cooking area to price ratio.

Beyond grills, what I’m particularly excited about is Home Depot online is also selling Pit Boss pellets. Those are my go-to brand because of their value and the wide variety. It’s nice to have one more place to buy them from.

Pit Boss Distribution

Home Depot online selling Pit Boss products is just the latest example of Pit Boss building exposure and distribution. This year it’s apparent it’s been a focus area for the brand, and they’ve been successful with it.

Pit Boss has partnered with Costco on Roadshows this year, started selling their consumables in grocery outlets, and has revamped their DTC website. They are covering all their bases to meet the consumer where they’re at.

Home Depot has one of the largest online marketplaces on the planet, and there are lots of brands there that we never see in stores. We’ll see if Pit Boss can make the jump in the future to getting floor space.
