Conair is recalling another Cuisinart grilling product. They issued a recall for metal wire grill brushes last week, and now they have issued a recall for their Propel+ 3-in-1 gas grill.
The Propel+ came out last spring and had a unique design. It was a four burner gas grill that had a griddle side burner and could be used as a pizza oven.
For the pizza oven feature, they designed the grill to have a dome top with a glass viewing window that opened to load in a pizza. That viewing window is the culprit of the latest Cuisinart recall.
The tempered glass window on the Propel+ in the pizza oven can shatter during use, posing a risk of serious injury from laceration hazard. They have received 37 reports of the glass shattering but no reports of injury from it.
The recall impacts about 12,660 units, about 83 of which were sold in Canada. The grills were sold between December 2024 and May 2026 for $500 to $750.
Consumers that suspect they have a recalled grill, should visit the website dedicated to the recall. It includes instructions on how to receive a refund for the product.
I have no knowledge of what the flaw was with this grill, but I have seen other grills with glass viewing windows where the glass is rated for a lower temperature than the maximum temperature of the grill. That’s an engineering choice that doesn’t make much sense. Like I said though, that may not be the case with this grill.
It appears that Cuisinart has stopped selling this grill, and has scaled back their grill offerings on their website in general. I have seen their products more at retail though this year with other popular grill brands. Their innovative Wok Station even received some floor space at one large hardware retailer.
