Cuisinart Outdoors has shown that they’re committed to innovating outdoor cooking. In addition to releasing a griddle that has a flame broiler, they’ve released Propel+, a four-burner griddle that also is a griddle and a pizza oven.
Griddle Side Burner
It’s not just that the Propel+ has a griddle that’s innovative, but rather how they executed it. The usual approach is you swap out your cooking grates for a griddle plate.
The way that Cuisinart Outdoors did it is the griddle plate sits over the side burner to not sacrifice any grilling area. It’s a really creative way to add versatility to the grill.

I like the approach not only for the space maximizing design, but because it adds more utility to the side burner. It’s nice to have a side burner, but I don’t make use of it probably 90% of the time that I’m grilling. This expands what the side burner can do.
Features and Specs
- Retail price of $499.99 (check price)
- Has 477 square inches of grilling space, 176 square inches of griddle space, and a 15” pizza stone
- 4-burner gas grill with an additional side burner
- The griddle plate can reach ripping hot temps of 800 degrees F
- Can cook a pizza in under 6 minutes
- Can run on natural gas with conversion kit sold separately
Pizza Oven Dome Lid
Beyond the griddle side burner, a feature that differentiates this grill from others is the pizza oven lid. It can open like regular grill lid, or the viewing window opens to access the pizza stone while retaining heat.
In addition to the viewing window helping to retain heat, the lid is also dual walled to insulate the cooking area. That’s important because you want lots of heat for getting a good crust on a pizza.
