People often claim that pellet grills is a bit of a misnomer. They are great for cooking, but they excel at lower temperatures and not as much for high heat grilling.
recteq has been at the forefront of changing this by innovating on high temperature grilling with pellets grills. They have many pellet grills that can get much hotter than the usual 450 to 500 degrees F max that you usually see.
A grill that takes that to the next level is their Bullseye. It’s shaped like a traditional charcoal grill despite running on pellets, but like a charcoal grill, it will hit temperatures of 1,000 degrees F. Those are pure grilling temps.
Despite it’s high temperature capabilities, you also can turn it down for traditional pellet grill smoking. This makes it a versatile little grill.
They first released it in 2021, then came out with the redesigned Deluxe model in 2022. The Deluxe has many upgraded features in the internals, the cart design, and with its controller. They also made a cool Black Edition of it in 2024.

They’ve now upgraded it once more with the newly released Deluxe 380BD. It retails for $949.99 (check price), and is a little more refined.
It’s similar to the Deluxe but with some key differences. At first glance, the most obvious is it has a much more substantial cart design. It matches the sturdiness that you’d expect from recteq.
They also advertise that it has temperature holding with 5 degrees F of the set point. That’s a big improvement from the 25 degrees F on the regular Deluxe.
To finish it off the 380BD adds the iconic bull horns to the lid of the grill. It can be a polarizing design detail but, to me, a recteq grill doesn’t feel like a recteq unless it has that. Plus, even if at first you aren’t a fan, I guarantee it will grow on you.
Now they just need to make a Bullseye 380BD Black Edition!
