Ninja released the Woodfire Grill a few years ago, a little electric grill that also had convective cooking and burned pellets for some added smoke flavor. It was a popular release, and consumers continue to enjoy the product.
Cuisinart is no stranger to innovation themselves, with cool products like an outdoor wok station, in addition to a full collection of grills. They’ve now released the Flavorboost electric grill, a competitor to the Ninja Woodfire.
Like 7-minute abs, the Flavorboost boasts 8 different cooking functions to Ninja’s 7 functions. They include grill, smoke, air fry, broil, roast, bake, dehydrate, and keep warm.
Features and Specs
- Retail price of $379.99 (check price)
- 154 square inches of cooking space can fit 6 burgers
- Includes a temperature probe
- Reaches temperatures up to 500 degrees F for grilling
- Weighs about 30 lbs for portability
Smoking
The ability to smoke is what sets the Flavorboost apart for other small electric grills. They accomplish it through a drawer in the front that you can fill with wood pellets.
A heating element takes care of the burning to generate smoke. The large fan on the top helps circulate the air inside the grill for faster cooking and increased smoke flavor.
Steam
One feature that’s neat about this grill, for anyone thinking of cooking barbecue, is it has a water cup inside of it. I haven’t seen that on other little grill, and it’s a good idea for adding moisture to your cook. It doesn’t have an official steam function, so it’s not for cooking, just maintaining a good cooking climate.
