New Folding, Battery Powered Pellet Grill Cuts Weight, Not Space

Grilling on the go usually happens with the aid of charcoal, gas, or old-fashioned firewood. There are some good portable pellet grills out there, but the weight required for an auger, controller and pellets usually makes pellet grilling not the best option. The EXIT Fire ‘n’ Go is looking to change that with their foldable grill design.

The Fire ‘n’ Go is a new product that is currently starting through an Indiegogo campaign, with units starting to ship next month. It looks to tackle the size and weight problems of portable pellet grills. The presale price is $279, or $319 with a spare battery.

Front Hopper

Many portable pellet grills have the wood pellet hopper on the side of cooking grate. The Fire ‘n’ Go moves it to the front to reallocate that space to more cooking. At 287 square inches, they advertise having 56% more cooking space than other similar grills.

Battery Power

A technology that’s become more popular with portable pellet grills is battery power. As we’ve tested, it’s a great way to cut the cord on a pellet grill. The battery packs on the Fire ‘n’ Go allow for up to 10 hours of low and slow cooking.

Foldable Grill

The Fire ‘n’ Go has a creative solution to be more compact without sacrificing the cooking area. The cook chamber folds down for easier carrying and packing. The sides collapse to the height of the cooking grate.

Lighter

Pellet grills are heavy simply because the way they operate. That’s a big hang-up with portable pellet grills. Despite being small in stature, they can still weigh upwards of 60 lbs. The Fire ‘n’ Go weighs in at just under 41 lbs, which is much less.
