Solo Stove Releases the Summit 24 Smokeless Fire Pit with Easier Starts

Solo Stove was an innovator when it came to eliminating smoke from a bonfire, and now they’re back to fix another issue. They released the new Summit 24 smokeless fire pit to make it easier to start the fire in the first place.

That’s been an issue with bonfires since they first became a leisure activity. Once The Daily Granite released their first paper edition, cavemen would crumple up newspaper only to be disappointed when the paper would burn out without catching the pile of wood.

That struggle continues today in suburban backyards and camps everywhere, leading to lies that “the wood is too wet” when it’s actually kiln-dried. Alas, the Summit 24 removes that embarrassment and makes everyone a pro with the Quick-Strike Cone.

It’s like a volcano shaped metal cone in the middle of the fire pit that you can dump fire starter gel onto. The gel, rolls down the side like lava, then pools in designated areas under the fire wood.

Then the fun begins! You light the gel on fire and everything combusts as onlookers are impressed with the fire you just built.

I’d recommend pouring the gel in before everyone gathers ’round, so you can act like building a fire is no big deal. Maybe call out a friend that struggled with getting the last fire to catch.

Features and Specs

  • Retail price of $599.99 (check price)
  • It’s a pretty large fire pit at 24.6″ in diameter
  • Ideal for groups of 5-7 people, or by yourself, because who’s judging?
  • Weighs 35 lbs, so it’s not bad to move around and take with you
  • Removeable ash pan for easy cleaning
  • Made from stainless steel for durability

Even More Smokeless

Is there such a thing as being smore smokeless? There is when it comes to fire pits. To achieve a smokeless fire you need dry wood that’s burning hot, with ample amounts of air to complete combustion.

The Summit 24 makes that easier by increasing the airflow from the previous generation. It comes with a stand built-in, where the previous version it was sold separately, and there’s extra air intake in the bottom.

The better airflow means it’s easier to achieve complete combustion and have less smoke. Having the stand included is also nice because it means one less thing to buy, it looks better, and you can use it on most decks.

More Fire

Another nice feature of the Summit 24 is it carries a lower profile than the previous fire pits. The shorter design means you can see the flames better when sitting around it, and more heat should radiate outwards.

Same Accessories

One thing that hasn’t changed from the previous model is there are accessories available to make the Summit more versatile. They have accessories like the Heat Deflector to add more heat around the fire or the Surround to make it more of a centerpiece. Accessories are something that Solo Stove has always done a great job with, so it’s nice to see them carry over to the new model.

New Naming

It’s worth calling out for Solo Stove fans or shoppers comparing models that with the release of the Summit, they’ve renamed the previous model. It used to be called the 2.0 model, and now it’s the Classic Fire Pit.
