Royal Oak Enterprises, the company behind Royal Oak Charcoal has sold their Birmingham, Alabama production facility. This was part of a planned consolidation effort into their Greenville, TX facility.
They received a tax abatement from the city of Greenville to expand and modernize their plant. It’s used to manufacture fire logs under the Pine Mountain brand.
Royal Oak received a reported $8.5 million for the Birmingham, AL facility located at 603 Tin Mill Road. It housed about 230,000 square feet of space on a 11.35 acre lot. They sold it to a Tennessee-based company associated with Goggin Warehousing.
The $8.5 million will come in handy becuase their planned expansion is estimated to cost about $10 million, according to their tax abatement agreement. This will allow them increase the plant from running 1-shift to running 3-shifts.
Royal Oak was combined with other consumer brands under the holding company Sweet Oak back in the summer of 2024. Sweet Oak is owned by the investment firms that acquired Royal Oak in 2016.
