Like every company in outdoor cooking, Ooni went from the crash after the Pandemic right into a reluctant consumer that’s reducing discretionary spending. If that wasn’t enough to manage, they’re also trying to navigate the tariffs.
Help is on the way for them though because after a year-long search, they have hired Amanda Tolhurst as Chief Operating Officer. She brings a strong consumer goods background to the company.
Amanda stood out not only for her incredible global experience, but also because she’s clearly someone who lives and breathes our values. We couldn’t be more excited to have her join us.
Kristian Tapaninaho, co-founder of Ooni
Amanda Tolhurst’s most recent experience was as the COO of Specialized, a company that makes bicycles and bicycle components. Before that she had lengthy stays at Nike and Whirlpool in various operational leadership roles.
As I’ve learned more about the people, the culture and the mission at Ooni, my excitement to join the team has only grown. When you combine passion with purpose, incredible things happen – and I can’t wait to get started.
Amanda Tolhurst, COO of Ooni
It’s an exciting time for Amanda Tolhurst to join Ooni. Financially, they worked through their inventory troubles and used the cash to pay down debt, putting them in a better position for the future. They also recently expanded into other cooking categories with the release of their Halo mixer.
