Camp Chef released their Gridiron griddle last year, which was a completely fresh looking griddle that had some unique features. Camp Chef made it the flagship model, and got rid of all their other griddles.
They’ve continued with the Gridiron name and released the Gridiron Gameday, a new tailgating griddle. It carries the name well because it has a similar look and some nice features that you won’t find on other griddles.

Features and Specs
- Retail price of $299.99 (check price)
- 2-burners
- Quite a bit of cooking space at 425 square inches
- Has a hinged lid to block wind and make transporting it easier
- Flamethrower ignition for easy starts in the cold and wind
- Front grease management for easier cleaning
- Leveling legs for cooking on uneven picnic tables
Pre-Seasoned Griddle Plate
One of the best features of the Gridiron Gameday is it comes with a pre-seasoned griddle plate. They pre-season it with a plant-based oil from the factory, so it’s ready to cook right when you take it out of the box.

That’s what gives it the dark appearance compared to other griddle plates where you have to spend a good hour seasoning them before the first use. Then, you still have to work at building up the seasoning and fill in the corners.
Seasoning is important to help give it more of a non-stick effect and it protects the surface from rusting. All that hard work is done for you.
Cooking Accessories
Camp Chef is a little different from other grill companies because some of their products are made to venture away from the backyard. They make some really solid portable stoves and cooking systems for camping.

With that, they have cooking accessories that will transform the Gridiron Gameday and let you cook in multiple different ways. The Gameday will work with Camp Chef’s 16″ Tabletop Cooking Accessories. That includes a pizza oven and a grill box.
