The acquisitive, family owned hardware chain, Aubuchon, has joined Ace Hardware. This move adds 76 stores to Ace Hardware’s store count.

Last month Ace Hardware said they had opened 100 new stores this year, with plans to open another 70 stores in 2023. This move dramatically boosts that store count and especially strengthens their presence in the northeast, where Aubuchon primarily operates.
While Aubuchon operates 112 stores total, 36 of those will remain as independent brands because they operate in the same footprint as existing Ace Hardware locations. In addition to their physical presence, Aubuchon also operates the domain hardwarestore.com.
