Aubuchon has been very active in acquiring hardware stores. After closing on an acquisition of an Ace franchise this week, they have another one slated for beginning of January.

This one is Spangler’s Ace Hardware, a 32-year old store located in Dover, PA. After the deal closes on January 6th, it will put Aubuchon’s store count at 134 across 11 states.

Spangler’s Ace Hardware is a special place because of the family behind it. For more than 32 years, the Spangler family has built a reputation that reflects deep care for customers, team members, and the Dover community. Ashley Spangler Jr.’s leadership stands out in particular for his steady, hands-on approach and commitment to service, which have shaped a business we greatly respect.

The store was owned and operated by the Spangler family. It was opened in 1993 and they grew it to be over 20,000 square feet. Ashley Spangler, III will stay on as Store Leader after close of the acquisition.
