Aubuchon Buys More Ace Stores, and Two Ace Franchisees Expand

The hardware industry is consolidating and one of the leading acquirers is Aubuchon. They’ve been busy expanding their operations in recent years with stores in 11 states.

They’ve just added another Ace Hardware franchise with the acquisition of Ithaca Agway Ace Hardware in Ithaca, NY. The name will remain post-close and one of the owners and their daughter will stay on in the operations.

Andy and Marna have spent the past 25 years shaping Agway Ace Hardware into a fixture of the Ithaca community. Their commitment to service, their agricultural roots, and the way they’ve grown the business while staying true to its heritage is exactly the kind of legacy we are proud to carry forward. We’re excited to welcome the Boerman family and their entire team into ours.

Following the close date of December 18th, Aubuchon will now have 118 stores in total.

It has been one of the great privileges of my life to lead these stores and serve the customers who have supported us for so many years. What began as a farm supply store has grown into something much bigger, thanks to our incredible team and the loyalty of our community. Knowing that everyone on our team will remain in place, including my daughter Maddie and me, made this transition feel right.
