Ideal for Camping or Tailgate
I’ve always thought that griddles were the best for camping or cooking away from home. Grills are obvioiusly good but your menu gets limited to what won’t fall though the grates unless you’re also packing cookware and accessories.
Small griddles are either too small though, or they’re not exactly portable. That’s what’s nice about the Drifter 215.
At 16.5″ in diameter, it offers quite a bit of cooking area, without the heft of a comparable griddle. The Drifter collapses down and it only weighs 21 lbs.
It also has a 2-gallon capacity, so it adds chili, soup, or pasta to the menu when camping. That’s a big addition and something that a griddle can’t offer.
I also like the simple design behind this style of cooker. It’s a bunch of formed steel with a burner underneath it. Simple is good, especially when you’re away from home.
