Kingsford Releases Slow Burn, a Charcoal Fire Fragrance

Kingsford charcoal has a distinctive smell when you burn it. It smells like summertime at my friend’s cottage in 2004, Twista is playing, and we’re grilling some tough but delicious steaks.

Besides that, it also smells like burning wood. I can’t go back in time to relive my college days, but I can instantly be taken there in my mind with Kingsford new frangrance in their continued collaboration with Jason Kelce. It’s called Slow Burn, and it’s available for only a limited time.

Charcoal has a very distinct smell and characteristic aroma that instantly flashes me back to backyard barbecues with my family, sporting events, and memories centered around sports and kinship. When Kingsford approached me with this idea, I thought right away this could be really cool. Smell is something that is so visceral at times, and the right scent strikes a chord when it hits your nose, Slow Burn by Kingsford strikes that note. It’s guaranteed to make you feel nostalgia, barbecue, and connect you to the memories about what’s important in life, and you’ll smell damn good doing it!

All nostalgia aside, Kingsford does have a very disinctive smell to it. I can walk around my neighborhood in the summer and point out every house grilling with Kingsford charcoal.

It would be interesting to see how closely they nailed the fragrance in a bottle of Slow Burn. They say the fragrance notes include charred hardwood, fire ember, saw dust, carbon clove and powder smolder to bottle that iconic smoky scent.

Kingsford has spent over a century perfecting the art of charcoal grilling, so who better to create the first-ever charcoal-inspired fragrance? With Slow Burn, we’ve captured the backyard experience of grilling in a fragrance that’s not only bold, fun, and quintessentially Kingsford but stokes that neighbor envy with the smoky smell. Whether you’re firing up the grill or heading out for a night on the town, this fragrance is all about savoring life’s most flavorful moments.

Slow Burn will be available for $30.62 exclusively at Kingford’s website starting Monday, November 3 at Noon E.T. It’s limited edition, so act fast, because I’m sure it will sell out. It’s perfect as a keepsake to wear or as a unique gift for the holidays.

The Slow Burn fragrance is the latest in Kingsford’s partnership with Jason Kelce that began when he retired. Kingsford has been excellent at coming up with unique marketing ideas and collaborations.

Some other successful promotions they’ve done in recent memory include their annual release of Beercoal that keeps getting bigger, and they sent out some cool burger boxes that were really well done.
