It’s great to see Solo Stove releasing new products again. After not releasing much last year, they’ve already released a new cooler / outdoor air conditioner and now a new gas griddle. This is just the start too, with five new products planned for the year.
The new Steelfire Stainless Steel Griddle marks Solo Stove’s first venture into griddling. What’s great about it too, is they’re releasing a griddle that is very different from all the other griddles on the market.

They could have just released a regular rectangular grill that blends in with all the other griddles, but they didn’t. They designed something much more unique.

Clad Stainless Steel Griddle Plate
The biggest difference between the new Solo Stove griddle and others on the market is the griddle plate. Rather than using cast iron or cold rolled steel, they opted for clad stainless steel.

Clad stainless steel means that there’s multiple layers of metal. In the case of this griddle, there’s a 430 stainless steel foundation, an aluminum core for better heat transfer, and 304 stainless steel cooking surface. Clad metal is really popular with nice pans for the stove because of their even heating and durability.
What’s nice about a stainless steel cooking surface is it doesn’t need seasoning, which is one of the most tedious things about other griddles. You just need to cook with a thin layer of oil like you would on a stainless steel pan.
Racetrack Burners
The Steelfire griddle has a unique burner design. It has two burners that have a D-shape with a cross section in the middle.

It matches the oval shape on the griddle surface and is designed to give edge-to-edge heat. It’s a patent pending design that Solo Stove calls Racetrack Burners.
Good Looking
Beyond the nice cooking features on Solo Stove’s new griddle, they also did a great job with the overall look of the griddle. It matches Solo Stove’s other products well and looks refined. The oval shape is different, which is also eye-catching in a sea of rectangular griddles.
