Known for their popular rubs, Meat Church, has expanded their consumable offerings. They have branched out into charcoal and wood products.
The new line of products is for sale exclusively at Ace Hardware. They’re available for purchase at your local Ace or online.
Natural Extension
Meat Church has released co-branded pellets before with Traeger. It only makes sense that they would leverage their brand and continue to push into other wood products.
They have a diverse offering for all grilling and smoking needs. The following are currently available.
- Lump Charcoal available in 10 lb or 20 lb bags
- Charcoal Briquets made with hardwood and not chemicals or fillers
- Texas Blend Chips & Chunks with Post Oak and Pecan varieties
- Backyard Blend Chips & Chunks with Hickory and Cherry varieties
- Bourbon Barrel Blend Chips & Chunks that are made with Buffalo Trace barrel staves
The Bourbon Barrel Blend is a nice addition to their product line. Anyone that follows Meat Church founder Matt Pittman knows he’s a bourbon fan, so it’s some extra personality.
Good Branding
Meat Church’s seasoning pop on the shelves with their colorful artwork on the labels and Texas flare. They did a great job continuing with that on the packaging for their wood products.
That means that ditched the plain packaging that you see on some other bags of charcoal and went heavy on the color and sugar skulls. It’s eye catching for people not familiar with the brand and will also draw in fans.
They didn’t stop with the bag design either, they also carried some thought onto their briquets. They’re all stamped with Ms and Cs for that brand which adds character.
Pick Up a Bag
I’ve had good success with Meat Church rubs in the past and enjoy their YouTube videos. They also have a great recipe for a Nashville Hot chicken sandwich that’s my go-to. I’ll be interested to try their charcoal and wood chunks.
