Jealous Devil Releases Blox Hardwood Firelogs to Make Cooking Easier

Cooking with hardwood in a smoker, grill, or pizza oven gives some of the best flavor. The only problem is there’s a learning curve with it to keep the fire going and at the temperature you want.

That’s what makes pellet grills so popular. They burn pellets made from compressed hardwood dust that have a predictable burn cycle.

Jealous Devil is known for making quality charcoal, but they just released a product that helps make cooking with hardwood easier. They released Blox Hardwood Firelogs, which offer an easier, more predictable burn.

They have a unique shape, but they look similar to giant wood pellets from a pellet grill. They also have a similar composition. They are made from hyper-compressed white oak, with no binders or fillers.

Each 12-pack costs $16.97 (check price) and weighs about 28 pounds. Jealous Devil says that 28 pounds of Blox can replace about 50 pounds of firewood.

Blox have a moisture percentage of less than 8%, so they burn really efficiently, and hold temperatures steady. They get to 932 degrees F in about 28 minutes, which they hold for 80 minutes, then they drop to around 842 degrees F and hold it for about 110 minutes.

Once the burning is done, there’s 60% less ash than traditional firewood. This makes clean-up easier after you’re done cooking.
