Electric powered outdoor cooking products have come a long way in recent years. At all segments of the category, there are electric grills that are starting to rival gas in terms of cooking ability.
On the luxury end of the market, Induction Hardware is innovating the way electricity is used as a fuel source. As you’d guess from their name, they’re ditching Calrod heating elements for induction power.
Induction technology has been a favorite way to cook indoors, with induction cooktops. They’re even often recommended over their gas stove counterparts because of their quick heating times and control.
Induction Hardware is planning to release a 36″ induction griddle that ships by the end of October. They offer the new griddle as a built-in for $2,995.95 (check price) and in a cart for $3,695.95 (check price).

Induction Griddle
I’ve discussed induction technology in outdoor cooking before, and a griddle is a great application for it. Induction cooking works by using a magnetic field to heat the cookware, rather than the electric heating element itself getting hot.
In this case, the griddle top itself is a ferrous metal that gets hot, just like on a gas griddle. It works like a big piece of cookware would on an induction stove.
