Charcoal grilling in the backyard is one of the main things I look forward to in the summer. It’s not just the food and smell of charcoal burning I look forward too, it’s that it brings together family and friends.

This summer is a little different than others with America’s 250th anniversary. A brand that’s been around for 106 of those 250 years and is steeped in Americana is Kingsford.

To celebrate America’s important milestone, they’ve released limited-edition charcoal bags with Flags and Eagles on them. You can buy the bags in their regular size or also in a two-bag value pack.

To meet consumers where they’re at, Kingsford has been releasing different pack sizes for value-seeking shoppers. They’ve also been leaning more into club shopping locations. At Costco, they also brought back their Competition Briquets that have the lowest ash of their charcoal.

Kingsford Pit Stops

Kingsford is also fully embracing the charcoal grilling hang with family and friends. They’ve kicked off a new content series called Kingsford Pit Stops.

It premieres June 25th and features golf and all-around legend, John Daly. In the show he spends time grilling and chatting in a backyard while cooking with Kingsford charcoal in the new bag design.

He also rolls out his own rub, Mama Lou’s Daly Seasoning. It’s a seasoning blend from his childhood that he says goes with just about anything.

The series is an enjoyable watch because it’s just about talking and relaxing while grilling. I previewed the first episode, and will make sure to follow along the series.
