Gozney is ready for outdoor cooking season with a new pizza oven that is very intriguing. It’s at an accessible price point, but carries good looks and higher performance from their more expensive ovens.
They announced the Arc Lite pizza oven today for $399.99 (check price), with a March 3rd launch date. For those tracking at home, that’s $100 cheaper than their previous least expensive oven, the Roccbox.

- Will cook pizzas up to 12″ in diameter

Distinct Looks and Performance
With the release of the Arc Lite, Gozney’s line-up (excluding Roccbox) from top to bottom carries the distinctive Gozney dome style. It makes their ovens stand out in an ever more crowded pizza oven landscape.
The Arc Lite especially stand out at the $399 price point because pretty much all the ovens there have the Roccbox or Ooni Koda look with collapsible legs. I like that about the Arc Lite and from a functionality standpoint, I like not having to mess with collapsible legs in the backyard.

Another thing that the Arc Lite does well is it has a thicker pizza stone than competitors. A thick pizza stone is key for locking in heat to help crisp the crust and not drop in temperature between pies. The stone on the Arc Lite is 12 mm thick compared to competitors that are 10 mm or less.
Like Gozney’s other ovens, the heat control knob is on the front of the Arc Lite. It’s a seemingly minor thing, but it’s a much better place for it. It’s inconvenient to have to reach to the back of the oven to adjust your temperature.
Differences From Arc
The Arc Lite is smaller, less feature-rich version of the Arc. When you step up to the Arc you get a digital thermometer on the front of the oven, more cooking space with the ability to handle 14″ pizzas, a 20 mm stone, a heat vent in the front for airflow, and a little bit nicer materials.
For those additional features, it carries a price tag that’s $300 more. If you’re looking for an entry into pizza ovens or somethings that’s more portable, the Arc Lite will be plenty of oven.
Goodbye Roccbox?
Gozney hasn’t said this, but I think the release of the Arc Lite marks the end of the road for the Roccbox. It visually doesn’t match the rest of the ovens, and its price doesn’t really make sense in comparison.
On Gozney’s website when you go up to pizza ovens, it shows all the ovens except for the Roccbox. You have to click all “Shop All” for it to even show up. I think that means it’s time to pour one out for the Roccbox.
