Rodney Scott and Myron Mixon Compete on BBQ…..Dog Treats

Two of the biggest names in barbecue are Rodney Scott and Myron Mixon. They’re both BBQ Hall of Famers, and in a clash of the BBQ titans they’re competing against each other. Only it’s not in the barbecue arena, it’s for the best barbecue dog treats.

They’ve teamed up with Purina on the Battle of the Beggin’ BBQ Challenge. It’s a creative partnership to tie dog treats with the food of the summer, barbecue.

There is nothing quite like the joy of barbecuing. I take great pride in crafting deep, smoky flavors that unite people. With Bacon & Beef Brisket Beggin’ treats, you can extend that same delight to your dog. I’m thrilled to partner with Beggin’ for Battle of the Beggin’ because it combines my love of bold flavors with a fun way to celebrate dogs, including my dog Roxie.

The way they’ve setup the competition is Rodney Scott is representing Team Bacon & Pork Spare Ribs flavored Beggin’ Strips, while Myron Mixon is Team Bacon & Beef Brisket flavored Beggin’ Strips.

Battle of the Beggin’ is unlike any competition I’ve ever done, and I’m looking forward to bringing my passion for BBQ to a fun battle that lets dogs be the ultimate judge. I know dogs are going to love the rich, smoky flavors of Bacon & Pork Spare Ribs Beggin’ treats.

Consumers can buy the two flavors of Beggin’ Strips, and let their dog decide which one is better. Then, they can vote online by September 30th. By that I mean the people can vote online for their dog, unless their dog is adept at using the internet.

The winning flavor will be part of the permanent Beggin’ Strips line-up. Plus, the losing BBQ legend has to shave his beard. Ok, I made that part up, but I’m sure bragging rights are on the line.

You can find the BBQ flavored Beggin’ Strips at most places that Beggin’ Strips are sold. Check their website for store locations.

I’ll have to try the two flavors with my dog and see which one is better. My money is on Bacon & Beef Brisket, because my dog is locked in on my brisket from the time I start trimming it until it’s finished and eaten.
