Ace Hardware is continuing to grow their store count and operations. In 2024 they added 150 domestic stores to their store count and in Q1 2025 they added an additional 33 stores.
To support their base of 5,177 stores, they’ve opened a new retail support center in Kansas City, MO. To celebrate the occasion, they held a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony on July 25th.
This new 1.5 million-square-foot facility in Kansas City is more than just a building—it’s a symbol of what hard work, purpose, and servant-hearted teamwork can accomplish. It exists for one reason only: to help our locally owned stores serve their neighbors with excellence that has made Ace famous.
John Venhuizen, President and CEO of Ace Hardware
At 1.5 million square feet, it’s a massive facility that measures a half mile from end to end. It’s nearly twice the size of the average Ace distribution center.

They built the facility in the center of the US to support centrally located stores. It’s strategically located along Interstate 29 and adjacent to Kansas City International Airport.
They facility is expected to generate 350 new jobs. To streamline operations, it has advanced automation technology and efficiency systems. This also helps Ace achieve their long-term sustainability goals.
