Just after releasing a new griddle and a new Freestyle grill, Napoleon announced that they’re releasing a new Prestige Pro gas grill. The Prestige line is the top of the food chain for Napoleon and the Prestige Pro is the top of the top.
Touchscreen Control
It marks the first time that Napoleon has released a gas grill with digital temperature control. Their previous generation Prestige grills had temperature reading capabilities on an on-board display and with the Napoleon app, but they didn’t offer control.
Digital thermostatic control is where the gas grill segment is heading. It first started being added to grills a few years ago, and now where seeing it more.
The Prestige Pro uses a touchscreen for temperature control of the grill in addition to the Napoleon app. It’s a good looking screen that makes the grill stand out. For the grilling purists, or when you want the more interactive grilling experience, you can still grill in manual mode.
Napoleon also programmed their digital controller to do more than just keep the temperature it’s set at. It will also adjust the heat automatically when the grill lid is open to keep the temperature more constant.
Other Features
Beyond the usual features like an infrared burner that you see on a grill at this level, it has some other nice features to differentiate it. One of my favorites is there is an integrated electric smoker box that’s found on the 665 model.
It’s a little tray that you can pull out and fill with pellets or wood chips. It will do the rest and add some smoke to your food.
On the safety side of things, should the flame go out while you’re cooking, you’ll receive an alert. It will then automatically shut off the gas in 10 seconds.
