A big “thank you” to Greg Rempe over at the BBQ Central Show. He had me on the show on Tuesday night, and it was a great time. You can find the episode here. It’s a fantastic show, so if you aren’t already a fan, check out their catalog and I’m sure you will be.

I can’t believe it’s already the first week of August, the summer is flying by. With fall ads already in full swing, we were excited to see BioLite release their new portable power stations in time for tailgating. While they have many uses, they would be perfect to run a pellet grill.

BioLite wasn’t the only company with a new release. Solo Stove released the Solo Stove 2.0, which has a removeable ash pan. That was a common complaint Solo Stoves, so we’re happy to see them listening to customers.

Char-Broil has two new products likely in the works, because they filed for trademarks for grills. The first is the FIRECRAFT SERIES and the second is CENTERBOX. In case you’re wondering, I’m not yelling when the name is put in all caps like that. That’s how they are listed in the trademark filings.

From new grills to new, old grills at Masterbuilt. Parent company Middleby released solid earnings this week and in their investor presentation they had a “New Product Spotlight”. Before you get excited, oddly enough it was for the Gravity Series, which was released in 2019.

As we discussed last week, while success wasn’t sticky, the pandemic was great for outdoor cooking businesses. That was no different at Pit Boss grills parent company Dansons. They had sales growth of a whopping 70% in 2020 to $365 million, according to an SEC filing uncovered this week.

Finally, if you like a big surprise, Z Grills brought back their Blind Box for a second year. For $399 you can buy a pellet grill without knowing which pellet grill you’re buying. You just know you’ll get a pellet grill with a PID controller and hope for the best.
